Oregon Zoo - From Antelopes to Zebras Information about animals from around the world, that are housed at the Oregon Zoo. The information includes scientific name, adaptations and coloration, behavior, reproduction and life span, diet, habitat and range, and current status. Lincoln Park Zoo - The Animals Animal information including scientific name, description, range, status, habitant, niche, life history, and special adaptations. There is also excellent conservation information. The best place to find pictures of any and all kinds of animals (look for animal pictures links). Great collection of links to other animal picture sites also. A great place to find lots of reference material and connects to Web sites with facts and information. This site has a searchable index of articles by and about the Smithsonian Museum. This extensive source of material is perfect for the student doing research. The Internet Public Library has two levels of use – Teen and Youth, so the material is wonderful for any grade level. One of the very best sites created by the Missouri Botanical Gardens. This is all about forests. The best general forest information site. This is an excellent collection of animal facts and information. This site is a virtual tour of all the ecosystems of the world. This is a wonderful site about the endangered animals of the world. You will need to know what animals you would like information about. Shades of Green: The Earth’s Forests A great site that does an excellent job covering information about forests. Lots of interesting information about trees and plants of different forests. Greenpeace: Ancient Forests Under Siege An activist site with good information. An environmental site by one of the leading forest product companies. This site contains information about animals of the world’s temperate forests.
